RESEARCH 연구실 소개 입니다

연구실 개요

The primary objective of our research group is to identify novel chemical entities with unique biological activities. To achieve our research goals, our Chemical Biology Team currently investigates the Urokinase-type Plasminogen Activator (uPA)-related metastatic pathways. Chemical library has been built with small to medium-size molecules to combat protein-protein interactions in the course of cancer metastasis and invasion. In parallel, our Synthesis Team focuses on the development of catalytic asymmetric methods to construct anticancer heterocyclic compounds. Typically, cycloadditions, rearrangements, and fragmentations are employed to shorten the overall synthetic efficiency in the presence of a catalytic amount of chiral catalysts. Also, efforts to understand our brucine diol-catalyzed asymmetric reactions employ computational approaches in collaboration with physical chemists in abroad and home. Recently, we developed a soft vinyl enolization method, which in the past was considered infeasible, by the use of beta-halo vinyl ketones in the presence of triethylamine as base. Novel reactivity patterns have been identified using intermediates from the soft vinyl enolization method, thus our immediate effort in this area of research is to develop asymmetric synthetic transformations under the soft vinyl enolization conditions.

Degital Resources You Must Read/Watch:

1. Design Of Experiments (DOE): a systematic, efficient method that enables scientists and engineers to study the relationship between multiple input variables/factors and key output variables/responses. It is a structured approach for collecting data and making discoveries.
